Abstract: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has been directed to consider climate change in its planning and decision-making on public lands. The Colorado BLM state office is currently conducting its assessment for a statewide Climate Change Adaptation Strategy. As part of this effort, a climate change social vulnerability assessment has been initiated. This webinar will present first steps in this project, which includes a review paper on social vulnerability assessment for public lands, our proposed approach and methods for doing initial interviews with field office managers, and ideas for next steps. We hope to engage webinar participants in a discussion to get feedback on our approach as well as input from other related past and ongoing studies.
