Climate Space of Fire Regimes in North-West North America

This publication, co-authored by Dr. Geneva Chong of the North Central Climate Science Center,  looks at the distribution of fire regime attributes across broad-scale climate and human-influence gradients. The authors used a multivariate climate space framework that allows for analysis and conservation planning focused on incorporating complex drivers of change within the US and across international borders. This climate space provides a critical context for the location and dynamics of cold water habitats and other biotic communities in relation to fire regimes, providing some insight into potential changes under predicted future climate scenarios.
